Going to see Last Fair Deal at the Jewish Mother here in Va Beach.

It will smell like a deli.

Just curious, what are the implications of a Federal Employee puffing in one of the two states that have legalized marijuana?

The Smelly Deli, there's a name change that needs to occur!

They would get fired. It's still a Federal offense and cause for termination. We had a GS-14 - that's a little over $105K a year in our area - with a fondness for spoons in her nose. Popped positive on a random urinalysis (which for Civil Service happens maybe twice a year), was permanently stripped of her security clearance and was terminated within two hours of receiving the message.

On a somewhat related note, that band di a much better job covering JGB than they did covering the Dead. All in all a good night out - the Reuben was fabulous.

"Jack Herer -> Humboldt Purple & Green -> OG Kush"

Sick jam segue! Is Humboldt Purple & Green an actual strain? Never heard of it. OG is dynamite stuff, but honestly Jack Herer is the most overrated strain imo. So many people rave about it, but I've always found it not potent enough for my liking. Just realized I may be coming off as a bit of a weed snob, though I can't say that's inaccurate lol.

Good eye, Humboldt purple and green is not necessarily a strain, but more a product we used to enjoy in the late 80s and early 90s. I had a bro who had a connection in Eureka and on occasion would make the drive to score this very kind sun grown Humboldt Indica. That product was the best smoke i have ever sampled, smooth, tasty, a little choke on the tail end, blue smoke and a very relaxed and inspired high at the same time.

These days i only sample on occasion and never puff in the daylight hours. SG Jack Herer out here is a nice mellow "up" buzz and 25% OG Kush is enjoyable for sex and guaranteed later on for sleep.

No such thing as a weed snob, the product is either good or not. With the influx of medical dispensaries in the state today price competition drives the buying decisions in these businesses. Unfortunately, the bulk of the Humboldt harvest is exported out of state due to a much higher cash yield.

Hmm, maybe that little choke on the tail end and the blue smoke was from the buds being laced with something or not dry enough. Buds that aren't dried properly are very harsh though, and since you described it as smooth, with just a little choke on the end, I think you had some laced product dude. If you're exhaling straight blue smoke, that is not normal, and likely from a laced product.

If the smoke was blue while burning, but white once exhaled, then the blue smoke is being caused by the blunt or joint papers being used. It's possible that smoke could be slightly blue and still be ok, but if it's fairly blue, something has to be wrong with the buds.

Whatever you say :-)

While that latter part is mostly true, everyone prefers a slightly different high, and every strain delivers a slightly different high. Not everybody is interested in just the most potent strains. That's why a lot of folks like Jack Herer I think. It's a great high, but not quite as potent as some other strains like Sour Diesel.

“Hmm, maybe that little choke on the tail end and the blue smoke was from the buds being laced with something or not dry enough.”

I never use rolling papers and always tip the butane lighter sideways towards the bowl, not from above. The blue smoke that i’m referring to is the smoke that rises out of the pipe just after a toke. I’ve always found good Indica has a light blue haze to the smoke when viewed next to a lamp. After watching the idiots in high school ingest PCP at parties I choose to stay far away from laced anything.

I agree, there are some heavy strains out there today that are too strong, make one dizzy and have a nasty hangover and headache effect. I enjoy inspiration, not devastation.

Adjectives - connoisseur, aficionado, gourmet, oenophile, snob, whichever label you wanna call yourself that fits your self-image is probably just an artifact of the THC psycho-active effect, yes? :-)

Love that song, and that man :-)

I'm still proud of the fact I used to be an acquaintance of Neil's dealer, and oh boy did Neil love his herbs. Mr. Young is now living a cannabis and alcohol free life though, and seems to be enjoying it immensely, so props to him.

I saw him on his recent tour, the first tour he performed sober in over 40 years, and he was phenomenal and having a great time with Crazy Horse. Neil will never fade away.

Right back at ya man. Here's a funny excerpt from a recent Rolling Stone interview with Poncho (Crazy Horse guitarist):

"I want to talk to you about the distant past now. Were you a fan of Crazy Horse before you joined the band? Did you buy Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere when it came out?

Oh yeah. I even used the album cover for rolling big fat hash joints. I used to listen to them and say, "Gee, I wish I could play with them." [Laughs]"

Here's the whole article:

Ditto.

I highly recommend some Kali Mist as well if you love Sour D. My other favorite sativas and sativa dominant hybrids are Train Wreck, NYC Diesel, Chem Dawg, and AK-47.

That gets me through the day. At night, it's Kush time.

It's my favorite of late. Used to smoke a lot of AK and Train Wreck back in the day too. Not as big into smoking now as my early college years, but when I do, a good Sativa like this is perfect for feeling good and high while still being able to blaze through my chores at home (no pun intended).

DSO plays 4/20 here in Seattle.

The air will be rife with the aroma of purple kush.
